Redbud Gallery is pleased to present Penny Cerling’s latest works in ink and pen in her exhibition "Cycles".

"As a former member and influencer working at the print shop 'Little Egypt', Penny Cerling continued being a force as well as collaborator to many well-known Houston and regional artists, operating her own studio.  Throughout her time as a print maker, she maintained her own way of expressing her need to create.  The exhibit shows drawings that exude beauty converged with intricate detail and form."
- Tanja Peterson, Redbud Gallery Director

Artist Statement:

For decades, I have been exploring cycles in my strong, delicate pen & ink drawings: biological feedback loops; the mystery of flower to seed; the intricate complexity of malaria; surprising weeds and explorations of the universe.  My new work explores the role of lignin in plant evolution from beginning to destruction.
