Description Explore the art of bookbinding in this hands-on workshop with artist Janet Reynolds Workshop Description: Flower Fold Book The flower fold is a simplified version of the origami petal fold. This book combines multiple flower fold structures to form an accordion book that has unlimited possibilities for what content can be added to it. Images, text, and collage are some of the ways to personalize the book. Participants will make a 5 page hardcover artist book that expands to 36" when opened. Examples of finished pieces will be shared to inspire future books. Artist Bio: Janet Reynolds is a visual artist/educator who taught art to middle school students in Texas for fifteen years. She is currently a professor at the University of Houston Clear Lake where she teaches a studio class on book and paper arts. She also teaches workshops at Red Bird Print Studio in Houston's east end. She earned her Masters in art Ed from Boston University. Nature and the environment are often subjects in her artists books. She has shown her work nationally and internationally and has pieces in collections at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, University of Denver, and University of Arizona special collections.
