Description Join Sharon Kopriva for a scratchboard workshop. Scratchboard is an art process that involves scratching through a black surface to reveal a white line or surface area from the prepared surface beneath it. It is most often used to create a high contrasty drawing, but is unlimited in the variety of compositions which can result with a little creativity. It is a direct engraving that works backwards from dark to light. All you need to do is scratch with any sharp instrument. Larger areas can also be removed with solvents. The artwork can be as simple as a sphere or as complicated as trees, nests, landscapes, or contrasted portraits. It can also be line designs. We will provide a small scratchboard, a lot of sharp things to scratch with, and some pictures for you to use. You could also bring your own tools and black and white photos with contrast.
